There is no Bengali home in which onions cannot be found in the kitchen. We eat raw onion as a spice and sometimes as a salad to enhance the taste of the food. As with the properties of onion, it also has various side effects. Let’s see the various uses of onion starting from its nutritional value.

In desi cooking, onion is used to thicken the broth, such as fish broth, chicken broth, and various roasts.

Although some foreign dishes include onions, not all dishes require onions. Like steak, kebab, salad, chicken fry, and many different recipes of chicken, fish fry, and soup, there are various dishes that do not use onions.

A large onion contains 86.8 percent water, 1.2 percent protein, 11.6 percent sugar, 0.18 percent calcium, 0.04 percent phosphorus, and 0.7 percent iron. Contains dietary fiber, carbohydrates, protein, and vitamins A, B, and C. Onions also contain small amounts of calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, and the antioxidants quercetin and sulfur. Side effects and health risks of onion consumption
